Enhancing International Law to make Peace in International Community

In 2008, Mahmoud Refaat founded the European Institute for International Law and International Relations (EIIR) which is one of unique establishments to combine both legal and strategic studies in the same frame aiming to Enhancing International Law to make Peace in International Community.

The European Institute for International Law and International Relations (EIIR) is an independent, promoting and scientific, center for studies, research and training on issues of application of laws and its effects on the social life. On the other side, The European Institute for International Law and International Relations (EIIR) is a laboratory for strategic studies whether they are influenced by law, legislations and other legal aspects or not.

 

Prosecuting the perpetrators of the crimes against humanity

Mahmoud Refaat has organized several campaigns to bring perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Yemen to justice, accusing Mohamed bin Salman and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of being the main perpetrators and must be prosecuted for war crimes and the Yemeni crisis for leaving thousands of civilians die of hunger and cholera as a result of naval and land blockades, also thousands of civilians killed as a result of the bombardments.

 

The International Action Group for Peace in Libya

In May 2018, Mahmoud Refaat along with former Libyan Prime Minister Omar Al-Hassi launched the International Action Group for Peace in Libya and was inaugurated from the Tunisian capital Tunis, mainly composed of Libyan politicians and international legal experts to prosecute the perpetrators of war crimes in Libya in front of the international justice and Refaat therefore occupied the position of general coordinator of the group.

the International Action Group for Peace in Libya was founded to rescue the country from Haftar, as the United Nations envoy to Libya announced to make elections without constitution at that time, which was a substantial proof of corruption by United Nations delegation to Libya that was started by Bernardino León was criticised after leaked emails showed that he had had secret and cordial negotiations with the United Arab Emirates government whilst leading sensitive political negotiations with Libyan authorities in his role as a Special Representative of the United Nations in the Libya peace process, during the phase of the Skhirat agreement. According to the leaked emails, León was offered a highly lucrative position as the First Director General of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy, which he subsequently accepted.

The International Action Group for Peace in Libya which accused the UN envoys to Libya as well as the United Arab Emirates of violating Security Council resolutions relating to Libya.

 

The Humanitarian Action Group for Yemen

In March 2019, Mahmoud Refaat launched  the Humanitarian Action Group for Yemen through the European Institute of International Law and International Relations with the intention of guaranteeing food and medical equipment to civilians in Yemen, as the country became the worst humanitarian crisis in the world according to the UN because of the war and the blockade led by the coalition of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Also the group is to work closely with the International Community to end to the war in Yemen and sue the actors of the Yemen war.

Mahmoud Refaat announced that Mohammad bin Salman and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan should be followed as war criminals as they are the main reason of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, which left thousands of civilians as victims of starvation, the cholera epidemic apart civilians who died because the bombing of Saudi Arabia. – Emirates Coalition.
